changsha conference center's facade by SCAD employs perforated metal panels

Changsha International Conference Center in Changsha, China, designed by SCAD, showcases a formal design influenced by traditional Chinese aesthetics, employing abstract representations of cultural symbols. This approach integrates natural, architectural, and cultural elements, emphasizing the harmony between human civilization and the environment. The layout spans 212,700 sqm, featuring a distinctive three-floor structure with 60 conference halls and rooms, accommodating up to 10,500 people. The architectural design thoughtfully incorporates Chinese cultural values, creating a spatial sequence that echoes the essence of ancient Chinese buildings. The facade draws from Chinese landscape ink paintings, incorporating parametric design and perforated metal panels for a captivating effect. The roof garden pays homage to Yuelu Academy, and the layout is strategically designed for flexibility, ensuring adaptability to diverse conference needs.
