For most of my travels, I have *gently* placed my earrings, necklaces, rings and watch in a singular, random pouch. Unless I only packed a single pair of hoops and maybe a ring, this packing style inevitably ends up in a tangled mess that requires clothes pins to work out the knots and a FaceTime with my mom for support. A travel jewelry case will help you avoid this problem, providing dedicated compartments and zippered pockets to keep your accessories separate.

At the Good Housekeeping Institute, our experts evaluate jewelry trends, like the Oura Ring and permanent jewelry, as well as research the best ways to clean your jewelry. We recently scoured top-performing brands for the best jewelry organizers and used that knowledge to evaluate over 20 travel-friendly organizers, sending some to consumer testers for long-term testing. We made sure to include travel jewelry cases for every budget because we know you probably want to spend your money on your trip (or, maybe a new pair of earrings!).

Calpak is one of many trendy luggage brands our pros have tested in the Lab and among testers and we've determined this popular brand is well worth it. My go-to weekender bag is from Calpak, so I was excited to evaluate the brand's jewelry case. Just under $100 is a lot to spend on a jewelry organizer, but this faux-leather case is stylish and sizable enough that it could also function as a regular jewelry box you sit atop your dresser.

It has a ring holder that is easy to unsnap, a removable earring card with 28 holes and snap tabs with individual pockets for storing necklaces. Note that bulkier items may not fit into these tiny pockets and the zipper got stuck a few times, especially around the corners. I like the spacious drawstring pouch that has even more sleeves on the side. The faux-suede lining is so plush I feel like a queen traveling with her most precious gems.

At just under $10, this is one of the most affordable travel jewelry case we have been able to find. It also happens to bea a top-seller with over 1,000 shopper reviews. It's designed to be able to fit in your handbag — so just imagine this space-saver in your carry-on or checked bag.

The case also has a small mirror and two removable dividers to keep your jewelry separate. We appreciate the grooves for rings or a pair of earrings and that the exterior is designed to be water-resistant. Don't underestimate this case's size: One satisfied shopper wrote, "This little box let me take a whole collection with me, plus two necklaces, on our two-week trip."

Dimensions: 3.94" x 3.94" x 1.97" | Material: Polyurethane | Colors: Blue (pictured), green, gray, light pink, white

A personalized jewelry case such as this one makes a great small gift for anyone who can't travel without a few options. And this best-seller is available in 30 colors and patterns (some of which are on sale right now!). You can also choose to add a personalization with printed or foil-debossed initials. It features four compartments, three hooks and a pocket.

Contributing Writer Jessica Hartshorn owns a similar case by Mark & Graham and said, "The monogram makes it extra cute and helps it stand out a bit in a hotel room so I remember to grab it when I pack it up again." This case is almost five times as expensive as the similar Vee & Co., but offers premium extras like additional compartments and the option to personalize the exterior.

Would I spend over $100 on a travel jewelry case? Only if it was absolutely worth it. After walking around New York City with a pendant necklace that has been tangled since a weekend trip home over a year ago, I can confidently say, dear reader, this Leatherology case is a beneficial splurge.

Available in more than a dozen solid colors, it has six tabs for necklaces that easily snap open, two spacious zippered pockets, a long ring bar and slots to hold up to seven pairs of earrings. I like that the earring grid also has a snap to help you remove your studs and hoops with ease.

The luxe full-grain leather exterior is smooth to the touch — as is the soft microsuede lining. It's designed to fit a week's worth of jewelry, but one five-star review said you may be able to stretch that to two weeks. It almost looks like a notebook when closed, which is another pro because it will be less obvious there is jewelry inside if your suitcase were to be lost or stolen.

We included ProCase jewelry organizers in our latest evaluation of the category, so it only made sense to revisit the affordable brand to see what travel styles it offered. We were impressed by this Amazon's Choice jewelry box that happens to be over 40% off right now.

Despite its budget-friendly price, it doesn't lack a well-thought-out design. Though it's compact enough to fit in a handbag, there's a ton of organization built inside the case to fit a lot of jewelry options: There's an elastic pocket, five necklace hooks, a ring cushion with seven grooves, a stud pegboard with room for 20 pairs and customizable compartments that can fit more earrings or even lipstick.

Dimensions: 6.69" x 4.92" x 2.09" | Material: Faux leather | Colors: Black (pictured), blue, champagne, emerald, glossy black, pink, red, silver, stripe, white

Monos is a minimalist, high-quality luggage brand that our experts reviewed and determined is worth the hype. Made from faux leather in a unique oval shape, the travel jewelry case is the epitome of elegance. Available in two neutral shades, it features a removable ring tray, an earring panel that can also be used to wrap necklaces around as well as a small pouch.

We appreciate its modular design that allows you to store every kind of piece from hoops to a watch. Monos' pricing falls within the range of our best overall pick Calpak, but the brand has offered seasonal sales of up to 25% off in the past.

Besides its "rich green color, gold zippers and soft, velvety feel," Lipski said her favorite thing about this jewelry case is that "It doesn’t take up too much space, but always fits all the jewelry I need to bring on any given trip." She appreciated the mirror and hidden back compartment, but note that she sometimes has minor issues with the zipper.

This stylish and affordable travel jewelry case has over 500 online reviews from Quince shoppers and an overall 4.8-star rating. Multiple reviewers noted that this case is a the great value. Shay Mitchell's travel brand Béis is all over the airport. Our pros appreciate the company's stylish luggage options as well as this jewelry case that has a more unique, rectangular shape than other organizers in our guide, which offers additional space for chunkier jewelry items like bangles. Its pricing is on par with Quince and half as expensive as other brands.

The case features a mirror, three snaps for necklaces, a pouch, grooves for your rings, a cushion you can wrap your bracelets around and a spacious compartment for everything else.

"I utilized all the sections for my necklaces, rings, earrings and watches for an overnight stay, and it aided in helping my jewelry stay organized while in a larger on-the-go bag too," said our tester. She said she would continue using the case, but added that while the structured design makes it sturdy, the hard exterior means less flexibility when packing a smaller suitcase.

Mejuri is a beloved jewelry brand our editors find to be a worthy splurge for fine, high-quality jewelry. I wear a Mejuri ring almost every day and often bring it with me when traveling. The brand's travel case ensures your higher-end jewelry remains protected during road trips or flights. It has four hooks for necklaces, six holes for earrings and ring holder. You can also opt to monogram the case free of charge (but note it would not be returnable).

Compact and slim yet still stylish, it has close to 500 online reviews culminating in a 4.6-star rating. One satisfied shopper loved the case so much that they bought it for three of their friends. "I use it for travel as well as for the office. I throw it in my gym tote so I can store my jewelry while I work out," they wrote.

Dimensions: 4" x 4" x 1.4" | Material: Grain leather, microsuede lining | Colors: Black (pictured), beige

For a weekend getaway or overnight stay, I found the Cuyana travel jewelry case to be the perfect size to fit three pairs of earrings, multiple rings and necklaces, as well as some hair scrunchies, clips and barrettes. This case has two pockets versus one, which is ideal for tucking necklaces into or small items you want to keep somewhere safe. The luxurious Italian pebbled leather and suede lining is beautiful and soft to the touch, and I found the zipper to be easy to use.

It was difficult to pull out the earrings and ring straps from the small knobs and then push them back into place. Still, I prefer the oval shape to a square and find its slim profile easily slips into a sleeve in my weekender bag.

Dimensions: 1.25" x 5" x 3.5" | Material: Italian pebbled leather, suede lining | Colors: Black (pictured), cappuccino, ecru, soft rose, deep ocean

We included a similar Bagsmart organizer in our guide to the best jewelry organizers. Instead of hanging, this version folds up to lay flat in your suitcase. "I enjoyed how it was flat as opposed to a square box; it made it way easier to pack in my luggage because it wasn't chunky and taking up room," reported our tester. It snaps close to stay secure and has a quilted cotton design available in 11 cute colors and patterns.

Our tester and experts appreciated the many compartments, including a large earring panel, a ring roll and zippered pockets to help keep all of your pieces untangled. What's more? It's a #1 best-seller on Amazon with over 12,800 shopper reviews. While we think this organizer is already super packable, you can opt for a small size if you are packing light.

Dimensions: 9'' x 5.75'' x 0.6'' | Material: Cotton | Colors: Smokey blue (pictured), beige, black, flower bird, light pink, purple, red fern, soft pink, teal, warm gray, white leaf

GH staffers are big fans of Dagne Dover bags and accessories — we have even included them in our guides to the best diaper backpacks, belt bags, travel backpacks and more. Hartshorn prefers using her Frankie Jewelry Case for longer excursions of 10 days or more: "I find that this case holds more than others — more than you would expect," she reported. It has dedicated spots for every piece of jewelry including rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets.

We appreciate the lightly padded exterior to help ensure your favorite pieces stay safe in transit. Given the larger capacity of this case, Hartshorn thinks "this would make a good gift for a teen who goes to camp or a college student going away for a semester." The available colors will match your other Dagne Dover pieces too if you want a cohesive travel ensemble.

Dimensions: 5” x 3” x 2.25” (small); 5” x 5” x 2.25” (large) | Material: Recycled polyester | Colors: Onyx (pictured), moonbeam, dark moss, tangerine dream, heatwave, tropiflora

I don't know about you, but I constantly begged my Mom to buy me a new Vera Bradley purse, tote, wallet and the like throughout elementary and middle school. I used to have a Vera Bradley jewelry organizer similar to its Jewelry Hard Case, but for travel. I am here to say the brand is better than ever with new stylish colorways and designs.

Our pros recommend this soft case that features a roomy main compartment, six additional pockets, five snap tabs, two ring rolls and two earring tabs that together can fit six pairs of earrings. This case is available in 10 patterns each featuring the heritage quilted design. It's also machine washable for easy cleaning after a vacation.
