EuroChem building air separation unit at Nevinnomysskiy | EuroChem Group

Major process equipment, weighing more than 1,000 tonnes, for the new air separation system was delivered to Nevinnomysskiy Azot.

The delivery forms the main part of the air separation unit; once the equipment is installed, the height of the columns in the protective casing will be more than 60 meters. In the near future, specialists will start assembling the facility. lox plant

The new air separation unit at Nevinnomisskiy is designed to produce gaseous oxygen and nitrogen, liquid oxygen, nitrogen, and argon and will replace an obsolete existing facility. The new unit will have a gaseous oxygen capacity of 18.5 thousand nm3/h and a gaseous nitrogen capacity of 20.0 thousand nm3/h, and will be used internally to produce fertilizers and organic synthesis products.

The new air separation unit is designed to implement advanced solutions that should ensure higher energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact. The unit will also increase the productivity and efficiency of organic synthesis, providing higher oxygen capacity and producing 99.5% pure oxygen.

Additionally, the unit will enable the production of liquid argon, as well as reduce the cost of nitrogen and oxygen production, which are used in most production processes at the plant.

The upgrade project received a positive response from the state’s inspection teams, including the environmental regulatory authorities. The commissioning of the new facility at Nevinnomysskiy Azot is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2024.
