Slide 2 - Who is a CHILD? International conventions define children as age 18 and under is a child. They haven't avail some of govt. benefits until cross age 18. But individual governments may define ”child” according to different ages or other criteria.
Slide 3 - Who is a labour ? One who works in a daily wage basis on the days when he or she has the work opportunities open for him or her and rest sits ideal on other days is termed as labour. The aggregate of all human physical and mental effort used in creation of goods and services.
Slide 4 - What is a child labour ? Generally accept that “child labour” is work for children that harms them or exploits them in some way. The International Labor Organization estimates that 215 million children between the ages of 5 and 17 currently work under conditions that are considered illegal, hazardous, or extremely exploitative.
Slide 5 - At the age of going school large numbers of children work in commercial agriculture, fishing, manufacturing, mining, and domestic service. Some children work in illicit activities like the drug trade and prostitution or other traumatic activities such as serving as soldiers.
Slide 6 - Where do child labour live? 60% in Asia, 32% in Africa, 7% in Latin America and 1% in US, Canada, Europe and other wealthy nations. Note: these stats change day by day
Slide 7 - What do child labourers do? A large number of children whom the ILO classifies as child labourers work in agriculture. Work ranges from taking care of animals and planting and harvesting food, tea stall, hotels/dabas, to many kinds of small manufacturing (e.g., bricks and cement, auto repairs and making of foot wears and textiles).
Slide 8 - It has been seen that more boys than girls work outside their house. But more girls work in some jobs, for instance, as domestic maids. Being a maid in someone's house can be risky. Maids typically are cut off from friends and family and can easily by physically or sexually abused by their employers.
Slide 9 - Why should we care? Many children in hazardous and dangerous jobs are in danger of injury, even death. They are suppose to sit at home, play with the friends, built their health, develop the culture and load themselves with knowledge. They are the future of their country.

Education - that helps children learn skills that will help them earn a living Social services - that help children and families survive crises, such as disease or loss of home and shelter. Family control of fertility - so that families are not burdened by children.
